El Fin se acerca - The end is near

No el fin del mundo, ni el fin del universo. Tampoco Huckleberry.

Se acerca el Fin de mi Master. Las mayusculas denotan emocion. Finalmente, luego de mas de un anio y medio de trabajo, estoy viendo la luz al final del tunel. Solo espero que no sea un tren.

Luego de una extraniamente iluminadora reunion con mi supervisor, me siento suficientemente cerca de las metas fijadas para mi tesis como para decir que estoy terminando. Claro, estas metas no tienen relacion alguna con los objetivos iniciales, fenomeno que cualquier estudiante de postgrado reconocera como la norma.

Pero lo importante es que el Fin se acerca. Ya estoy dedicandole mis segundos libres a enlistar las multiples recompensas que me dare por haber culminado esta fase, que tanto se diferencia de como la habia imaginado.

Lo importante es que me rete a completar esta meta, aun con todas sus dificultades. Y que lo estoy logrando. Lo importante es cuanto se expandio mi comprension y mi conciencia con esta experiencia, las conexiones que hice con la gente, y cuanto aprendi de esas interacciones. Lo importante es la persona que soy al final del proceso.

Mentira.

Lo importante es que dentro de unas pocas semanas habra un papel que dice "Alejandro Lujan, Master in Science" :)

The end is near

Not the end of the world, nor the end of the universe.

The End of my Master is near. Caps represent excitement. Finally, after more than a year and a half of work, Im seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope it's not a train.

After a surprisingly illminating meeting with my supervisor, I feel close enough to my goals to say that Im almost finished. Of course, these goals have no relation to the initial objectives of my thesis, phenomenom that any grad student will recognize as absolutely normal.

But the important thing is that the End is near. Im already spending my free senconds in listing the multiple self-compensations I will give myself as a prize for finishing this phase, that has proved to be very different than what I had imagined.

The important thing is that I challenged myself to reach the goal, even with all the difficulties. And Im getting there. The important thing is how my understanding of things has expanded with this experience, the conections I made with people, and how much I learnt from those interactions. The important thing is the person I am at the end of the process.

Well, not really.

The important thing is that a few weeks from now there will be a paper that says "Alejandro Lujan, Master in Science" :)

Google docs

Hoy, al entrar en google docs para chequear mi lista de cosas pendientes, y ver colores rosados por todas partes, me ataco el siguiente tren de ideas en cuestion de medio segundo:

- Conio, entre en la cuenta de alguien mas
- Que cursi es el tema visual que tiene esta cuenta, todo rosadito y con corazones por todos lados.
- No recuerdo que google docs tuviese temas visuales... mmm...
- Seguro es un feature nuevo, google y sus eternos betas
- Espera, ahi estan todos mis documentos, ergo...
- Estoy en mi cuenta!
- Conio, alguien me jodio y me modifico mi cuenta de google docs!!!!!
- Seguro fue marconi!!
- Si hubiese sido marconi me hubiese borrado todos los documentos... mmm...
- Espera, ahi hay un mensaje chiquitico que dice algo...
- Ah claro. Menos mal que dani y yo no celebramos esta vaina. Si no tendria que salir corriendo a comprar algo de ultima hora :)
